Tavern Battered® Cod Pretzel Bun Sandwich

Mrs. Friday’s® Tavern Battered® Cod is ideal for this tasty fish sandwich, boasting the perfect size and crunch. It’s topped with caramelized onions, simmered in German beer, and a whole grain German mustard, both complementing the flavor of the Tavern Battered® Cod fillets. Ingredients

2 Each Tavern Battered® Cod Fillets 2-3 oz. (Item# 070053)
1 Each Pretzel Bun
1 Teaspoon Butter
1 Each Onions, Small, Sweet, Julienne
2 Tablespoons German Beer
1 Tablespoon Whole Grain German Mustard
1 Teaspoon Fresh Dill, Chopped
To Taste Salt
To Taste Pepper

Directions

  1. Caramelize the onion in butter. Add the German beer and let simmer for a couple of minutes.
  2. Stir in the mustard and remove from heat. Season to taste.
  3. Cook the Tavern Battered Cod according to package instructions and 165° F internal temperature.
  4. Toast the pretzel bun, add the fish and smoother it with the onions and mustard. Sprinkle with fresh dill and serve hot.
